Agent capabilities
Understand the document, collection, search, comment, history, link, image, and file actions agents can perform.

Quire's MCP tools are task-oriented rather than a public mirror of the browser REST API. Available tools depend on the scopes granted to the session.
Find and read knowledge
Agents can list and search documents, browse collections, read one or many documents, inspect outlines, check links and backlinks, and review or compare document history. Search and read operations respect the authorizing member's current collection access.
Create and edit
Write-enabled sessions can create and duplicate documents; edit, insert, append, replace, rename, move, and delete document content; organize sections; and restore documents from Trash. Collection tools can create paths, rename or move collections, and move groups of documents where permitted.
Collaborate
Agents can list comments and action items, create comments, reply, resolve or reopen threads, change thread kind, assign work, and complete action items. Comment events preserve the agent session in attribution.
Work with files and images
Agents can attach existing Quire images, import public HTTPS images, or provide supported base64 image data. Collection file tools support listing, viewing, attaching, moving, deletion, restoration, and short-lived secure download links.
Tool availability is discoverable from the MCP connection. Let the client inspect the live tool catalog instead of hard-coding a private REST endpoint.
